I was one of the first person to ever read this book. I distinctively remember laughing out laud for hours. Few other Cubans heard me and just had to read it too.
It describes a hidden truth about Cubans, and about peoples secret sexuality in general... Though it is a novel, I tell you (since I personally knew the author for many years before he wrote the book) that it is more than a novel, much of the story is based on events and real people.
It truly takes you into the mind of what a young Cuban lived in that time. Leaving his country, fitting into a new culture, making friends and finding lovers.
I only hope you enjoy it as much as I did!!!
